It provides relief from symptoms like swelling, redness, and discomfort in conditions such as otitis externa. The combination addresses both infection and inflammation while preventing bacterial growth in affected ears.
Formulation / Ingredients
APLOSYN Otic Drop contains: Fluocinolone acetonide 0.25% + Polymyxin B sulfate 10,000 IU/mL + Neomycin sulfate 3.5mg/5mL (equivalent to 0.07% w/v).

Side Effects
APLOSYN Otic Drop common side effects include: temporary stinging or burning sensation upon application, localized itching, and redness in the ear canal. Some users may experience allergic reactions like rash or swelling, particularly with prolonged use. Discontinue if hearing changes, severe irritation, or signs of superinfection occur.
Directions and Dosage
- Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): 3-4 drops in affected ear(s) twice daily. Do not exceed 2 applications in 24 hours.
- Children (2-12 years): 3 drops in affected ear(s) twice daily. Do not exceed 2 applications in 24 hours.
Not recommended for children under 2 years. Maximum treatment duration: 10 days unless directed. Avoid contact with eyes. Instill drops without touching dropper to ear.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to corticosteroids, aminoglycosides, or polymyxins. Avoid with perforated tympanic membrane, viral/fungal ear infections, or tubercular lesions. Do not use in untreated ocular infections.
Special Precautions
- Do not use if ear drainage persists beyond treatment period
- Avoid contamination of dropper tip
- Discontinue if irritation worsens or new symptoms appear
- Monitor for secondary fungal infections with prolonged use
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
Concurrent use with other otic preparations may increase irritation. Avoid combining with systemic aminoglycosides due to potential ototoxicity. Allow 30-minute intervals between applications of different ear medications.
How should I store it?
Store below 25°C in original container. Keep tightly closed when not in use. Protect from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Discard 30 days after opening.
