Indications/Uses
Alfacalcidol + Calcium compounds (Alfa-Calcinol) is used to treat conditions wherein metabolism of calcium is disturbed due to impaired 1-alpha-hydroxylation, such as renal failure, other disorders associated with Vitamin D resistance, and in calcium malabsorption of osteoporosis.
Main indications include: Post-menopausal and senile osteoporosis.
Calcium-deficiency states such as rickets and osteomalacia.

Dosage/Direction for Use
1-2 Tablets daily or as directed by the physician.
Contraindications
Pregnancy and lactation.
Special Precautions
Avoid use in patients with cases of hypercalcemia or conditions wherein usage favors kidney stone development. As drug contains magnesium, it should be avoided by patients with renal failure and uremia. Preparation should not be used after expiration date.

Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances are rare. There are no documented cases of acute overdose of calcium, however a very high intake of calcium may lead to hypercalcemia. Inform the physician of unwanted effects after administration.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light.
