EZEMIBE Ezetimibe 10mg is used for the management of primary hypercholesterolemia, including inherited forms like homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. It works to reduce high levels of total cholesterol, LDL ("bad") cholesterol, and triglycerides in the blood, while promoting an increase in HDL ("good") cholesterol. This reduction in lipids is important for lowering the overall risk of major cardiovascular events, particularly in high-risk patients. The medicine operates by selectively decreasing the absorption of cholesterol from the small intestine.

Side Effects

EZEMIBE Ezetimibe 10mg common side effects include gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea and abdominal pain, along with feelings of unusual tiredness or weakness. Other reported reactions involve headaches, joint pain, muscle pain (myalgia), and back pain. Infrequently, individuals may experience symptoms like cough or mood changes, including depression.

Directions and Dosage

• Dosage for Adults (18+ years): 1 tablet daily. Do not exceed 10mg in 24 hours.
• Dosage for Adolescents (10–17 years old): 1 tablet daily. Do not exceed 10mg in 24 hours.

Not recommended for children under 10 years old. Maximum daily dosage is 10mg.

Contraindications

The medicine should be avoided by individuals who have a known allergy to the active component or any other constituent within the tablet formulation.

Special Precautions

• The use of this medicine requires the patient to maintain an appropriate lipid-lowering diet continuously.
• Administration is generally not advised for individuals with moderate or severe liver problems.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Taking this medicine concurrently with certain bile acid sequestrants requires careful timing to ensure proper efficacy. The dose should be administered at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after taking a sequestrant.

This product should be stored securely away from the reach of children. Keep the tablets at room temperature, ensuring the area does not exceed 30°C.
