Side Effects
PLASIL Metoclopramide 10mg common side effects include: drowsiness, diarrhea, restlessness, and fatigue. Less commonly, it may cause movement disorders such as muscle spasms or tremors. Discontinue use immediately if neurological symptoms develop.
Directions and Dosage
- Adults (18+ years): 1 tablet (10mg) up to 3 times daily. Maximum daily dose: 30mg.
- Adolescents (15-17 years): 5-10mg up to 3 times daily. Maximum daily dose: 30mg.
- Children (1-14 years): 0.1mg/kg per dose up to 3 times daily. Maximum daily dose: 0.5mg/kg.
Not recommended for infants under 1 year. Maximum treatment duration: 5 days unless specifically prescribed.
Contraindications
Avoid if hypersensitive to metoclopramide. Do not use in gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction, or perforation. Contraindicated in pheochromocytoma and epilepsy.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
Use only if clearly needed. Avoid during first trimester. Excretion in breast milk occurs—consider discontinuing breastfeeding during treatment.
Special Precautions
- Monitor for neurological symptoms like involuntary movements.
- Use cautiously in patients with depression, hypertension, or Parkinson's disease.
- Avoid prolonged use due to tardive dyskinesia risk.

Avoid concurrent use with sedatives, alcohol, or CNS depressants. Monitor closely when combined with serotonergic drugs due to interaction risks.
