Indications/Uses
Chronic constipation, diseases in which easier bowel movements with soft stools are desirable eg, anal fissures, hemorrhoids, following rectal or anal surgery and during pregnancy; supportive therapy in diarrhea of various causes and in irritable bowel syndrome.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and children >12 years should take the contents of a single-dose sachet stirred into plenty of liquid 2-6 times daily.
Method and Duration of Use: Empty the contents of 1 sachet into a glass. Slowly fill the glass with cold water. Stir with a spoon and drink immediately. Then drink another glass of liquid.
It is important that adequate amounts of liquid are taken with Mucofalk eg, 150 mL of water with 5 g of Mucofalk. It is also important to wait for 30-60 min after taking drugs before taking Mucofalk.
The physician should be consulted if diarrhea lasts for more than 3-4 days.

Contraindications
Pathological narrowing in the gastrointestinal tract. Threatened or existing intestinal obstruction (ileus). Poorly controlled diabetes mellitus.
Use in children: Insufficient investigations have been undertaken concerning the use of Mucofalk in children. It should not therefore be given to children <12 years.

Special Precautions
A reduction in the insulin dose may be necessary in insulin-dependent diabetics.
Storage
Store at room temperature not exceeding 25°C, in a dry place.
