JARDIANCE DUO 12.5mg / 500mg is used for controlling blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus alongside proper diet and exercise. It also reduces cardiovascular death risk in adults with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease.

Formulation / Ingredients
JARDIANCE DUO 12.5mg / 500mg contains: Empagliflozin 12.5mg + Metformin Hydrochloride 500mg

Side Effects

JARDIANCE DUO 12.5mg / 500mg common side effects include: urinary tract infections, female genital mycotic infections, volume depletion symptoms (low blood pressure, dizziness), and hypoglycemia when combined with insulin/sulfonylureas. Serious risks include lactic acidosis, ketoacidosis (evidenced by difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting), and Fournier's gangrene.

Directions and Dosage

Special Precautions

  • Monitor renal function before treatment and annually
  • Assess volume status and correct dehydration before initiation
  • Increased risk of ketoacidosis with acute medical conditions
  • Higher UTI and genital infection risk requires prompt symptom monitoring
