Compounded Tirzepatide is used for managing Type 2 Diabetes by improving blood sugar control and for weight management in adults who are overweight or have obesity and at least one weight-related complication.

Possible Side Effects: Nausea, diarrhea, decreased appetite, vomiting, constipation, and abdominal pain.
Warnings:
- Thyroid Tumors: Do not use if you or your family has a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or MEN 2. Report any neck mass, swallowing difficulty, or hoarseness.
- Pancreatitis: Report symptoms of pancreatitis and gallbladder disease.
- Hypoglycemia: Monitor blood glucose levels closely, especially if using insulin.
- Vision Changes: Report any vision changes as this could indicate retinopathy.
- Mental Health Changes: Report any worsening depression or suicidal thoughts.
- Kidney Health: Monitor for kidney issues, especially if experiencing dehydration.
Dosage / Direction for Use of Compounded TIRZEPATIDE 5MG - Lyophilized Powder for SC Injection
Instructions: Administer as directed by your healthcare provider. The medication is typically given as a subcutaneous injection in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate injection sites with each dose to avoid irritation. Do not mix with insulin.
Dosing: Dosing should be directed by your doctor. The standard dosing is provided below:
- For Type 2 Diabetes: Start with 2.5mg once weekly for 4 weeks, then increase to 5mg. Adjust as needed in 2.5 mg increments (Maximum dose is 15 mg).
- For Weight Management: Start with 2.5mg once weekly for 4 weeks, then increase to 5mg weekly, adjusting every 4 weeks up to 15mg if necessary.
Sample Dosing:
- 2.5mg (2.5mL) each week for weeks 1 to 4
- 5mg (5mL) each week for weeks 5 to 8
- 7.5mg (7.5mL) each week for weeks 9 to 12
- 10mg (10mL) each week for weeks 13 to 16
- 12.5mg (12.5mL) each week for weeks 17 to 20
- 15mg (15mL) each week for weeks 21 and onwards
Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, administer as soon as possible within 4 days. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and resume the regular schedule.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
- Tirzepatide is contraindicated in patients with medullary thyroid cancer. Tirzepatide is also contraindicated in multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type-2 (MEN-2)
Special Precautions
This medication carries several risks and requires immediate consultation with a doctor if certain symptoms arise:
- Thyroid Tumors: Watch for neck lumps, swallowing or breathing issues, or hoarseness.

- Kidney Injury: Report bloody urine, decreased output, or swelling immediately.
- Mood Changes: Be aware of agitation, irritability, or suicidal thoughts; notify a doctor if these occur.

Is it safe to take SEMAGLUTIDE 5mg Lyophilized Powder for SC Injection with other drugs?

Generally Not Recommended Together:
- Hormonal Medications: Desogestrel, Dienogest, Drospirenone, Estetrol, Estradiol, Ethinyl Estradiol, Ethynodiol, Gestodene, Levonorgestrel, Mestranol, Nomegestrol, Norethindrone, Norgestimate, Norgestrel.
- Anticoagulants: Warfarin.
Possible Increased Side Effects (But May Be Prescribed Together):
- Diabetes Medications: Acarbose, Chlorpropamide, Glimepiride, Glipizide, Glyburide, Insulin (various types), Liraglutide, Metformin, Nateglinide, Repaglinide, Semaglutide, Tolazamide, Tolbutamide.

How should I store SEMAGLUTIDE 5mg Lyophilized Powder for SC Injection?
Conditions:
- Unreconstituted Lyophilized Powder is stable at room temperatures of 18ºC to 25ºC (64°F to 77°F) and should not be refrigerated.
- Reconstituted Lyophilized Powder should be stored in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). Do not freeze.
- Once in use, Reconstituted Lyophilized Powder must be stored in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F).
EXPIRY AND BEYOND USE DATES:
- Expiry as written on the vial (1-2 years)
Beyond-Use Date: Reconstituted Lyophilized Powder should only be used
6 weeks from reconstitution.
