Indications / Uses

RENITE XL Enalapril 10mg is used for treating hypertension (high blood pressure), heart failure, and improving survival after heart attacks. It helps relax blood vessels to lower blood pressure and reduce strain on the heart. This medication may also slow kidney damage progression in diabetic patients.

RENITE XL Enalapril 10mg contains: Enalapril 10mg per tablet.

Side Effects

RENITE XL Enalapril 10mg common side effects include: dizziness, persistent dry cough, fatigue, and headache. Less frequently, hypotension, hyperkalemia, or angioedema (swelling of face/lips) may occur. Discontinue immediately if breathing difficulties or severe skin reactions develop.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults (Hypertension): Initially 5mg once daily. Maintenance: 10-40mg once daily or divided doses.
• Adults (Heart Failure): Initially 2.5mg once daily. Maintenance: 10-20mg daily in 1-2 divided doses.
• Adults (Post-Heart Attack): Start 5mg, then 5mg after 24 hours, 10mg after 48 hours, then 10mg once daily.

Maximum daily dosage: 40mg. Not recommended for children. Renal impairment requires dosage reduction. Duration: Long-term as directed.

Contraindications

History of angioedema, bilateral renal artery stenosis, hypersensitivity to ACE inhibitors. Concomitant use with aliskiren in diabetics or sacubitril/valsartan within 36 hours.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Contraindicated during pregnancy due to fetal toxicity. Avoid during breastfeeding due to potential infant risks.

Special Precautions

• Monitor renal function and potassium levels regularly
• Use caution in severe salt depletion, heart failure, or collagen vascular disease
• Risk of symptomatic hypotension with diuretics or dehydration

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

May cause hyperkalemia with potassium-sparing diuretics. NSAIDs may reduce antihypertensive effect. Avoid concurrent lithium due to toxicity risk. Interacts with diuretics and other blood pressure medications.

How should I store it?

Store between 15-30°C in original packaging. Protect from light and moisture. Keep tightly closed and out of children's reach.
