Indications / Uses

DIASARPINE Amlodipine / Losartan 50 / 5 is used for the management of essential hypertension, which is a common condition of sustained high blood pressure. This combination medication is designed to help lower blood pressure effectively. It is also indicated for the treatment of angina pectoris and for mild to moderate hypertension, especially when blood pressure is not adequately controlled by a single medication.

Side Effects

DIASARPINE Amlodipine / Losartan 50 / 5 common side effects include dizziness, headache, fatigue, and swelling of the ankles or feet, which is medically known as peripheral edema. Other frequently reported adverse effects are a feeling of warmth in the face (flushing), somnolence, palpitations, nausea, and abdominal discomfort. More serious, but less common, adverse reactions may involve heart rhythm irregularities or skin reactions.

Directions and Dosage

• Dosage for Adults (18+ years): The typical initial dose is 1 tablet once daily. The daily intake may be increased to a maximum of 2 tablets (containing the higher component at 100mg and the lower component at 10mg) if the blood pressure control is not sufficient.

Not recommended for those under 18 years of age as the safety and effectiveness of this combination have not been established in this group. Treatment duration is determined on an individual basis.

Contraindications

This product is contraindicated in patients with a known severe allergic reaction to any of the tablet's constituents. It should be avoided by individuals currently experiencing cardiogenic shock or those diagnosed with severe liver dysfunction.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

This product is contraindicated during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy because it can cause serious injury and death to the developing fetus. Its use while breastfeeding is also generally not advised.

Special Precautions

• Use with careful monitoring in people with significant narrowing of the aortic valve or hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.
• Careful consideration and possible dose adjustment are necessary for those with severe liver or kidney problems.
• There is a risk of unusually low pressure, or symptomatic hypotension, which may occur especially after starting the treatment.
• Use with caution in those with a narrowing of the arteries leading to both kidneys.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Taking this medication alongside other medicines that retain potassium, such as certain diuretics or potassium supplements, may cause an unwanted increase in potassium levels. Other pain or anti-inflammatory products may also reduce the effectiveness of the pressure-lowering action.

How should I store it?

Keep this product secured in the container or the pack it came in, tightly closed. Store at temperatures that do not go above 30°C to maintain the quality of the product.
