It is also contraindicated in individuals with anuria, which is a condition where the kidneys are unable to produce urine. The use of this drug is not recommended during pregnancy as it may affect the developing baby. In terms of lactation, low daily doses (50 mg or less) may be acceptable, however, higher doses have been noted to potentially reduce breastmilk production.
