Amlothix Amlodipine 10mg is used for managing hypertension and chronic stable angina. It works by relaxing blood vessels to improve circulation and reduce cardiac workload. This medication is also prescribed for coronary artery disease in patients without heart failure symptoms.

Amlothix Amlodipine 10mg contains: Amlodipine Besylate 13.88mg (equivalent to Amlodipine 10mg)

Side Effects

Amlothix Amlodipine 10mg common side effects include: peripheral edema, dizziness, flushing, and palpitations. Less frequently, it may cause nausea, fatigue, or abdominal pain. Severe reactions like hypotension or angioedema require immediate discontinuation.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults (18+ years): 1 tablet (10mg) once daily. Maximum daily dose: 10mg.
• Elderly (65+ years): Start with 5mg daily; adjust based on tolerance.
• Children 6-17 years: Not recommended for this strength. Use lower doses under medical supervision.

Dose adjustments required for hepatic impairment. Not suitable for children under 6 years.

Contraindications

Severe hypotension, cardiogenic shock, aortic stenosis, or hypersensitivity to dihydropyridine derivatives.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Contraindicated during pregnancy due to potential fetal harm. Discontinue breastfeeding as it may transfer into human milk.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?
