Additionally, it is indicated for uncomplicated genital infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, providing a broad-spectrum approach to eliminating susceptible bacteria.

Side Effects

Directions and Dosage

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active ingredient, erythromycin, or any other macrolide or ketolide antibiotic. Use is prohibited in patients with a history of cholestatic jaundice or hepatic dysfunction associated with prior antibiotic use.
Special Precautions
- Observe for signs of superinfection with non-susceptible organisms, including fungi.
- Caution should be exercised in patients with severe renal impairment or electrolyte imbalances.
- Discontinue use immediately if signs of allergic reactions, such as angioedema or anaphylaxis, occur.
- There is a risk of QT prolongation and cardiac arrhythmia in susceptible individuals.
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
Interactions may occur with antacids containing aluminum or magnesium, which can lower peak blood levels. Caution is required when taken with digoxin, colchicine, or oral anticoagulants like warfarin.
