Directions and Dosage
- Adults (18+ years): 250 mg to 500 mg (10 mL to 20 mL) every 8 hours. For severe infections, the dosage can be increased.
- Kids 6–12 years: 250 mg (10 mL) every 8 hours.
- Kids 1–6 years: 125 mg (5 mL) every 8 hours.
- Infants under 1 year: 62.5 mg to 125 mg (2.5 mL to 5 mL) every 8 hours.
Dosage for children is generally calculated at 20 to 40 mg/kg daily in divided doses. Maximum treatment duration: 7 to 10 days depending on the severity and type of infection. Shake well before use.
Contraindications
History of allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to penicillins. It is also contraindicated in patients with infectious mononucleosis, as they are more likely to develop a skin rash while taking this medication.
Special Precautions
- Monitor for signs of superinfection with fungal or bacterial pathogens during prolonged treatment.
- Dosage adjustment may be required for individuals with severe renal impairment.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?
