Side Effects

Directions and Dosage
- Infants under 6 months (under 6 kg): 0.5 mL to 1 mL every 8 hours depending on the severity of the infection.
- Infants 6–12 months (6–10 kg): 1 mL to 1.25 mL every 8 hours.
- Kids 1–2 years (10–12 kg): 1.25 mL to 1.5 mL every 8 hours.
Maximum treatment duration: 7 to 10 days for most infections. The suspension should be shaken well before use and administered consistently to maintain blood levels. Dosage is based on 25-50 mg/kg body weight per day in divided doses.
Contraindications
History of hypersensitivity to penicillins or any member of the beta-lactam family, including cephalosporins. It is also contraindicated in patients with infectious mononucleosis, as they are highly prone to developing skin rashes.
Special Precautions
- Monitor for signs of superinfection with mycotic or bacterial pathogens during prolonged use.
- Adjust the dose in patients with severe renal impairment to prevent accumulation.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?
Concurrent use with probenecid may increase blood levels of the antibiotic. It may also decrease the effectiveness of oral contraceptives and interact with anticoagulants or uricosuric agents.

Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Once reconstituted, the suspension is typically stable for 7 days at room temperature or 14 days when refrigerated.
