ERY-V Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment is used for the treatment and prevention of bacterial eye infections. It is effective against conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and other ocular infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. This ointment can also be used prophylactically to prevent ophthalmia neonatorum in newborns and for the prevention of eye infections following minor eye procedures or injuries.

Side Effects
ERY-V Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment common side effects include: temporary eye irritation, redness, itching, or burning sensation upon application. Some users may experience blurred vision temporarily after applying the ointment. Allergic reactions such as severe eye discomfort or swelling are rare but possible with prolonged use.
Directions and Dosage
- Adults and adolescents: Apply approximately 1 cm ribbon into the affected eye(s) 2 to 4 times daily. Continue treatment for at least 48 hours after symptoms disappear.
- Children and infants: Use under medical supervision. For ophthalmia neonatorum prevention: apply single application shortly after birth.
Maximum duration: Typically 7-10 days unless otherwise directed. Do not exceed recommended frequency without medical consultation.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to erythromycin or other macrolide antibiotics. Avoid use in patients with known allergic reactions to any component of the formulation.
Special Precautions
- Avoid contact with eyes immediately after application to prevent temporary blurred vision
