Indications / Uses

CO-AMOXISAPH-457 Co-Amoxiclav 457mg Suspension is used for treating bacterial infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, and skin infections. It is also effective against otitis media and dental abscesses caused by susceptible organisms.

CO-AMOXISAPH-457 Co-Amoxiclav 457mg Suspension contains: Amoxicillin 400mg + Clavulanic acid 57mg per 5ml

Side Effects

CO-AMOXISAPH-457 Co-Amoxiclav 457mg Suspension common side effects include: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and skin rashes. Some patients may experience abdominal discomfort or thrush.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and children 12+ years: 5-10 ml every 8 hours depending on infection severity. Maximum daily dose: 30 ml.
• Children 6-12 years: 5 ml every 8 hours. Maximum daily dose: 15 ml.
• Children 2-6 years: 2.5-5 ml every 8 hours. Maximum daily dose: 15 ml.
• Infants 3 months-2 years: 1.25-2.5 ml every 8 hours. Maximum daily dose: 7.5 ml.

Not recommended for infants under 3 months. Treatment duration: Usually 5-14 days depending on infection type.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to penicillins or beta-lactam antibiotics. History of hepatitis or liver dysfunction associated with this medication.

Special Precautions

• Monitor for signs of allergic reactions
• Complete full course even if symptoms improve
• May cause false positive glucose urine tests

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

May interact with anticoagulants and probenecid. Concurrent use with methotrexate requires caution.

How should I store it?

Store unreconstituted powder below 25°C. After reconstitution, keep in refrigerator and use within 7 days.
