ASICLAV-625 Co-Amoxiclav 625mg is used for treating bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, and dental infections. It is effective against sinusitis, pneumonia, otitis media, and infections caused by beta-lactamase producing strains.

Side Effects

Directions and Dosage

  • Adults (18+ years): 1 tablet every 12 hours. For severe infections: 1 tablet every 8 hours. Maximum daily dose: 3 tablets.
  • Adolescents (12-17 years): 1 tablet every 12 hours. Maximum daily dose: 3 tablets.
  • Children (6-11 years): Dose based on body weight, typically 20-30mg/kg daily in divided doses. Not recommended for children under 6 years or weighing less than 25kg without medical supervision.

Treatment duration typically ranges from 5 to 14 days depending on infection severity. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve earlier.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to penicillins or other beta-lactam antibiotics. History of hepatic dysfunction or cholestatic jaundice associated with this medication combination.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Small amounts are excreted in breast milk - may cause diarrhea or fungal infection in nursing infants.

Special Precautions

  • Monitor liver function during prolonged therapy
  • May cause false positive glucose urine tests
  • Maintain adequate hydration to reduce crystaluria risk
  • Use with caution in patients with renal impairment

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

May reduce effectiveness of oral contraceptives. Concurrent use with anticoagulants may require increased monitoring. Avoid with probenecid as it may increase blood levels.
