Directions and Dosage

• Dosage for Adults (18-75 years): The initial daily dose may start at 25 mg, increasing slowly. The usual maximum daily dose is 400 mg.
• Dosage for Older Adults (over 75 years): The maximum daily dose should not exceed 300 mg.
• Dosage for Kids 12–18 years: Use must be determined based on specific needs.

This product is not recommended for individuals under 12 years old. For patients 12 to 18 years of age with high risk for breathing problems, this medicine should also be avoided. Maximum treatment duration is highly individual and should be managed carefully due to risk of dependence.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used in individuals who have acute intoxication from substances such as alcohol, sedatives, or hypnotics. It is strictly avoided in patients experiencing acute or severe respiratory depression and in those with uncontrolled seizure disorders. It is also contraindicated if certain medications, such as MAO inhibitors, have been used within the last two weeks.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Prolonged use during pregnancy may lead to a temporary withdrawal syndrome in the newborn after delivery. Use during lactation is generally discouraged because the substance can pass into breast milk and potentially cause severe breathing problems, excessive sleepiness, or limpness in the nursing infant.
