Indications
Mild to moderate pain; Primary dysmenorrhea, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis
Dosage
Adult: 500 mg tid. Alternatively, initiate at 500 mg, followed by 250 mg 6 hourly as necessary, usually not more than 1 week. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration.
Elderly: Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration.
Child: As tab or cap: ≥12 years Same as adult dose. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration. Max treatment duration: 7 days (except in the treatment of systemic onset juvenile chronic arthritis).
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to mefenamic acid, or any component of the formulation. Refer to manufacturer labeling for further detail.
Common side-effects
Dizziness, Headache, Pruritus, Skin rash, Fluid retention, GI upset
Storage
Store between 15-30°C.
