Indications / Uses

CAPXIBB-400 Celecoxib 400mg is used for the symptomatic relief of painful joint conditions, including the signs and symptoms associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. As a selective anti-inflammatory agent, it works by targeting a specific enzyme involved in the inflammatory process, thus reducing pain and swelling. This medication is also indicated for the short-term treatment of acute painful conditions and for the relief of menstrual pain.

Side Effects

CAPXIBB-400 Celecoxib 400mg common side effects include: gastrointestinal disturbances such as abdominal pain, indigestion, flatulence, and diarrhea. Headache and swelling of the extremities (peripheral edema) are also frequently reported. Of major note, there is an increased risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, including heart attack and stroke, and a risk of serious, sometimes fatal, gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration, which may occur without warning.

Directions and Dosage

• Dosage for Adults (18+ years) with Acute Pain: The initial recommended dose is 400 mg taken once, followed by an optional 200 mg dose on the first day if necessary. For continued acute pain management, the dosage is 200 mg two times daily.
• Dosage for Adults (18+ years) with Chronic Joint Conditions: For conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis, the usual daily dose is 200 mg total, split into 100 mg two times daily, or 200 mg once daily.
• Dosage for Kids 2 years and older (Juvenile RA): The dosage is typically based on body weight, usually 100 mg to 200 mg taken two times per day.

The maximum recommended daily dosage for chronic conditions is 400 mg. Treatment duration should be kept as short as possible using the lowest effective dose.

Contraindications

Avoid use in individuals with known hypersensitivity to the compound, to any sulfonamide medications, or those who have had asthma, hives, or allergic reactions after taking other anti-inflammatory agents. It is prohibited for individuals with active gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration, severe cardiac failure, or after undergoing coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Use of this compound should be strictly avoided from the beginning of the third trimester of gestation onward. Since the active substance is excreted in maternal milk, alternative feeding methods should be employed during the period of treatment.

Special Precautions

• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to minimize cardiovascular risks.
• Requires careful monitoring in individuals with a history of heart failure, high blood pressure, or pre-existing fluid retention.
• Caution is advised in patients with kidney or liver impairment, as dosage reduction may be necessary.
• Treatment must be discontinued immediately if any signs of gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding appear.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

The compound can increase the risk of bleeding when taken with blood thinning agents like warfarin. It can also decrease the blood pressure-lowering effect of certain anti-hypertensive medications and diuretics. Taking it alongside fluconazole may lead to increased concentration of the active ingredient in the body.

Keep the capsules stored at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Ensure the product is kept away from humidity and direct heat.
