Side Effects
ARCOXIA Etoricoxib 60mg common side effects include: alveolar osteitis, edema, fluid retention, dizziness, headache, palpitations, arrhythmia, hypertension, bronchospasm, abdominal pain, constipation, flatulence, gastritis, heartburn, diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, and ecchymosis. Some users may also experience fatigue or flu-like symptoms.
Directions and Dosage
- Adults (18+ years): 1 tablet (60mg) once daily. For acute gouty arthritis, 120mg once daily may be used for a maximum of 8 days. For chronic pain, do not exceed 60mg daily.
Not recommended for children and adolescents under 16 years of age. Maximum treatment duration for acute pain is 8 days. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance; active peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding; severe hepatic or renal dysfunction; congestive heart failure, ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, and cerebrovascular disease; inflammatory bowel disease.
Special Precautions
- Monitor blood pressure regularly as it may cause hypertension.
- Caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal perforation, ulcers, or bleeding.
- Risk of cardiovascular thrombotic events increases with dose and duration.
- Use with caution in patients with significant risk factors for cardiovascular events.
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
Interactions may occur with oral anticoagulants, diuretics, ACE inhibitors, and lithium. Use with low-dose aspirin may increase the risk of gastrointestinal ulceration.
