Directions and Dosage
- Children 6-11 months: 2.5mg (1mL) once daily
- Children 1-2 years: 2.5mg (1mL) once or twice daily
- Children 2-6 years: 2.5mg (1mL) once daily, may increase to 5mg (2mL) daily
Maximum daily dosage: 5mg (2mL) for children under 6 years. Not recommended for infants under 6 months. Duration of use should not exceed 7 days without medical evaluation.
Contraindications
Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <10mL/min). Hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine, piperazine derivatives, or any component. Concomitant use with alcohol or CNS depressants.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
Not recommended during pregnancy. Excreted in breast milk - avoid while breastfeeding due to potential infant sedation.
Special Precautions
- Use caution in children with epilepsy or seizure disorders
- Monitor for urinary retention in children with bladder obstruction
- Reduce dose in hepatic or renal impairment
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
May enhance CNS depression with sedatives or alcohol. Increased risk of anticholinergic effects with atropine-like drugs. Avoid concurrent use with theophylline.
How should I store it?
Store below 25°C in original container. Keep bottle tightly closed and away from light. Discard 6 months after opening.
