Indications/Uses
Prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm; relief of daytime & nighttime symptoms of seasonal & perennial allergic rhinitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Asthma or allergic rhinitis Adult ≥15 yr 10 mg. Childn 6-14 yr 5 mg, 2-5 yr 4 mg. All doses to be taken once daily in the evening for asthma & morning or evening for allergic rhinitis.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Not for treatment of acute asthma attack. Abrupt substitution for inhaled or oral corticosteroids. Clinical monitoring w/ systemic corticosteroid reduction. Pregnancy & lactation. Montezyd 4 & 5: Phenylketonuric patients.
Adverse Reactions
Montezyd 4 & 5: Headache, thirst. Montezyd 10: Abdominal pain & headache; somnolence.
Drug Interactions
Decreased AUC w/ phenobarb.
