Indications / Uses

CETRIKAST Montelukast / Levocetirizine is used for the symptomatic relief of allergic rhinitis, which includes both seasonal and persistent (perennial) types. This combination is also indicated for prophylaxis in seasonal allergic rhinitis. Furthermore, it is suitable for the treatment of comorbid asthma and allergic rhinitis in patients who are 15 years of age and over, providing dual-action relief against allergy symptoms and airway inflammation.

Side Effects

Contraindications

Avoid use if there is a known sensitivity to the components, including montelukast, levocetirizine, or cetirizine. Use is also not recommended for patients who have severe renal impairment, specifically with a creatinine clearance below $10 \text{ mL/min}$. Furthermore, it should be avoided in individuals with rare hereditary problems, such as galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption.

Special Precautions

  • Monitor for any changes in mood or behavior, including agitation, aggression, or sleep disturbances.
  • Exercise caution when this product is used by patients with impaired hepatic function.
  • Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, as dosage adjustments may be necessary depending on the degree of impairment.
  • Patients should refrain from activities that demand complete mental alertness, such as operating machinery or driving, due to the potential for dizziness and drowsiness.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Caution should be exercised when taking this product concurrently with sedatives or other central nervous system (CNS) depressants, as this may increase drowsiness. Certain medicines that induce liver enzymes, such as Phenobarbital or Rifampin, may interact. Avoid taking it simultaneously with other antihistamine products.

How should I store it?

Store the product at temperatures not exceeding $30^{\circ}\text{C}$. Keep it in the original packaging to protect the contents from light and moisture.
