A digital thermometer is the most accurate and quickest way to take a temperature. Digital thermometers are available in most drug stores and supermarket pharmacies. Be sure to follow package instructions while using any thermometer.
The digital thermometer is a widely used item of temperature-measuring equipment that significantly overhauls and updates the traditional liquid-based thermometers of years before.

HOW TO USE:
1) Press the on/off button located at the right side of the LCD display. The thermometer will beep and the display will read 188.8 E. Then display will turn to 37.0 C for 1 second then will eventually show Lo C. This is a normal function of the thermometer and only indicates that the unit is in working order.
2) Take the body temperature. a) For oral use, place the thermometer under the tongue. Keep the mouth closed during reading. b) For underarm reading, ensure the underarm is dry. Place the thermometer in the armpit and bring arm down against the body.
3) The reading is completed within one minute and the thermometer beeps repeatedly. It is not necessary to hear the beep to ensure the peak temperature has been reached. When the display reading stops flashing and shows consistent temperature, the peak temperature has been reached.
4) Read and record the temperature.
5) Push the on/off button to turn the unit off. The thermometer will shut-off automatically in approximately 10 minutes.
6) Use the plastic case to avoid spreading germs and to keep the thermometer clean.
7) Clean the thermometer metal probe with isopropyl alcohol or soap and water (not hot water). Between uses, dry the tip of thermometer.
8) Wash the area extending about 2 degrees from the tip of the thermometer with warm (not hot) soapy water before and after each use. Be sure to dry the thermometer thoroughly.
CAUTION: Keep batteries away from children and babies.
