Indications / Uses

MUPORS Mupirocin Ointment is used for treating bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, folliculitis, and minor wound infections. It targets Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria commonly found in skin conditions. This topical antibiotic also helps prevent bacterial colonization in cuts, abrasions, and small surgical sites.

Side Effects

MUPORS Mupirocin Ointment common side effects include: mild burning, stinging, or itching at the application site. Some users may experience redness, dryness, or localized rash. Contact dermatitis and allergic reactions occur rarely but require discontinuation.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and adolescents (12+ years): Apply thin layer to affected area 2-3 times daily
• Children (2 months-11 years): Apply thin layer 2-3 times daily

Maximum treatment duration: 10 days. Avoid use on large wound areas. Not recommended for infants under 2 months.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component. Avoid use on severe burns or extensive tissue damage. Not for ophthalmic, nasal, or internal mucosal application.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Generally avoided due to limited human safety data. Animal studies show fetal effects at high doses. Not recommended during breastfeeding due to potential infant exposure.

Special Precautions

• Discontinue if severe irritation or allergic reaction develops
• Avoid contact with eyes and nasal passages
• Do not use occlusive dressings unless medically directed

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Topical interactions are unlikely due to minimal systemic absorption. Avoid concurrent application with other skin preparations at the same site. Allow sufficient time between different topical products.

How should I store it?

Store below 25°C. Keep tube tightly closed. Protect from direct light and excessive heat. Discard 14 days after opening.
