Indications / Uses

Foskina B Ointment is used for treating inflammatory skin conditions complicated by bacterial infections, such as infected eczema, dermatitis, and impetigo. It combines antibacterial action against gram-positive bacteria with anti-inflammatory effects to reduce redness, swelling, and itching. This dual-action formulation is also indicated for minor wound infections and other superficial skin infections where both infection and inflammation are present.

Side Effects

Foskina B Ointment common side effects include: local reactions such as burning, stinging, or itching at the application site. Prolonged use may lead to skin thinning, striae, or secondary infections. Hypersensitivity reactions including contact dermatitis and folliculitis have been reported in some cases.

Directions and Dosage

  • Adults and adolescents (12+ years): Apply a thin layer to affected area 2 times daily. Maximum daily application area: 20% of body surface.
  • Children 2-11 years: Apply sparingly to affected area 1 time daily. Maximum treatment duration: 5 days.

Not recommended for infants under 1 year. Maximum treatment duration: 14 days. Avoid use on face, groin, or axillae without medical supervision.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to corticosteroids or antibiotics. Untreated bacterial, viral, or fungal skin infections (e.g., herpes simplex, varicella, cutaneous TB). Rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, and skin conditions with atrophy.

Special Precautions

  • Avoid prolonged use or application under occlusive dressings
  • Discontinue if skin irritation or hypersensitivity develops
  • Monitor for secondary infections with prolonged use

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Concurrent use with other topical products may increase absorption and adverse effects. Avoid combination with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors. Interactions with systemic medications are unlikely.

How should I store it?

Store below 25°C in original tube. Keep container tightly closed. Protect from light and moisture. Do not freeze.
