Indications / Uses

ACCEBACT Mupirocin Ointment is used for the topical treatment of bacterial skin infections, including impetigo and secondary skin infections. It is effective in stopping the growth of bacteria on the skin and is indicated for use in both adults and children over 1 year old. This ointment is not intended for viral or fungal infections and should only be used externally.

Side Effects

ACCEBACT Mupirocin Ointment common side effects include: mild burning, stinging, itching, dryness, redness, or pain at the application site. Rarely, allergic reactions, contact dermatitis or rash may occur. These reactions are usually mild and temporary.

Directions and Dosage

  • Adults (18+ years): Apply a thin layer to affected area 2-3 times daily for up to 10 days. Do not use on large wounds or for longer than 10 days without reassessment.
  • Kids (1 year and above): Same as adults.

Not recommended for children under 1 year old. Maximum treatment duration: 10 days unless reassessed.

Contraindications

Do not use if allergic to any component of this ointment. Not recommended for use on large areas or deep/open wounds.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Should only be used if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Minimize application area and avoid prolonged use.

Special Precautions

  • Avoid contact with eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Not indicated for pressure sores.
  • Stop use if severe irritation or allergic reaction develops.
  • Prolonged use may lead to secondary infections.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Generally safe with other topical agents, but do not use multiple products on the same area simultaneously.

Store below 25°C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
