AMBICAL-PLUS Calcium / Cholecalciferol is used for providing a daily source of calcium and Vitamin D3 to prevent and treat deficiencies of these essential nutrients. It is indicated to help maintain optimum bone function and reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis, a condition characterized by fragile bones. The combination helps the body absorb and utilize calcium effectively for bone health and strength.

AMBICAL-PLUS Calcium / Cholecalciferol contains: Calcium 500mg (equivalent to 1.25g Calcium Carbonate) + Cholecalciferol (Vit. D3) 200IU

Side Effects

AMBICAL-PLUS Calcium / Cholecalciferol common side effects include gastrointestinal discomfort such as constipation, flatulence, bloating, and stomach upset. If an individual takes excessive amounts, symptoms of a very high level of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia) may occur, which can involve nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and an increased urge to urinate. Maintaining recommended intake levels helps prevent these adverse effects.

Directions and Dosage

• Dosage for Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): 1 tablet daily.

This product is generally intended for adults and adolescents whose nutritional requirements call for supplemental intake of both components. The duration of treatment is for as long as supplementation is needed to meet daily dietary requirements or manage deficiency.

Contraindications

Individuals with a known heightened sensitivity to any component of the formulation should avoid this product. It is also not recommended for use in patients with high calcium levels in the blood (hypercalcemia) or high calcium levels in the urine (hypercalciuria), a history of kidney stones, or certain severe kidney conditions.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Special Precautions

• Exercise caution in individuals with pre-existing impaired kidney function, as this may increase the risk of elevated blood calcium levels.
• The intake from all sources (diet and other supplements) should be considered to avoid taking too much, which can lead to adverse effects.
• Individuals with certain conditions that can elevate calcium levels, such as sarcoidosis, should use this product with care.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Absorption may be reduced when taken at the same time as certain antibiotics (e.g., tetracyclines or quinolones), so separation of doses is generally advised. Use with high doses of thiazide-type fluid tablets should be monitored, as it may increase the concentration of one component in the blood. Also, its effect may be reduced by certain anti-seizure medicines.
