HIVENT Salbutamol Nebule is used for relieving bronchospasm in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other reversible airway obstructions. It works by relaxing airway muscles to improve breathing during acute attacks and prevents exercise-induced bronchospasm. This medication is also indicated for symptomatic relief of respiratory conditions involving bronchoconstriction.
Formulation / Ingredients
HIVENT Salbutamol Nebule contains: Salbutamol (as sulfate) 1 mg per mL + sodium chloride.

Side Effects
HIVENT Salbutamol Nebule common side effects include: headache, tremor, nervousness, and palpitations. Less frequently reported reactions include muscle cramps, throat irritation, or paradoxical bronchospasm. Discontinue use immediately if chest pain or severe allergic reactions like swelling occur.
Directions and Dosage
- Adults & Adolescents (12+ years): 2.5 mg (1 nebule) every 4-6 hours as needed
- Children 4-11 years: 1.25-2.5 mg (½-1 nebule) every 4-6 hours as needed
Maximum daily dose: 10 mg (4 nebules). Not recommended for children under 4 years. Use only during acute symptoms as directed.
Contraindications
Do not use with known hypersensitivity to salbutamol or similar bronchodilators. Avoid in cases of severe cardiac disorders, uncontrolled hyperthyroidism, or tachyarrhythmias.
Special Precautions
- Monitor for worsening asthma symptoms or paradoxical bronchospasm
- Use cautiously in patients with cardiovascular diseases or diabetes
- Avoid excessive use which may lead to tolerance
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
May interact with beta-blockers reducing effectiveness. Concurrent use with other sympathomimetics may increase cardiovascular side effects.
