Indications / Uses

Flucysteine Acetylcysteine 600mg is used for mucolytic therapy in respiratory conditions with excessive or thick mucus secretions. It treats chronic bronchopulmonary diseases including chronic bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema, and bronchiectasis. This medication also serves as an antidote in paracetamol overdose cases. Additionally, it facilitates diagnostic bronchial studies and tracheostomy care.

Side Effects

Flucysteine Acetylcysteine 600mg common side effects include: nausea, vomiting, stomatitis, fever, and rhinorrhea. Less frequent reactions may involve drowsiness, chest tightness, and bronchospasm. Rare but serious effects include anaphylactoid reactions and angioedema. Discontinue immediately if severe hypersensitivity reactions occur.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and adolescents (14+ years): 1 sachet (600mg) 1-2 times daily. Maximum daily dose: 1200mg.
• Children 6-13 years: 1 sachet (600mg) once daily. Maximum daily dose: 600mg.

Not recommended for children under 6 years. Dissolve contents in water before administration. Maximum treatment duration: 10 days unless clinically indicated.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to active component. Severe respiratory insufficiency with inadequate cough reflex. Active peptic ulcer disease. History of bronchospasm following previous administration.

Special Precautions

• Monitor patients with asthma for bronchospasm
• Use cautiously in hepatic impairment
• May cause dizziness - caution when operating machinery
• Not recommended for patients with fructose intolerance
