Indications / Uses

SHELOGEL Aluminum / Magnesium 200mg / 100mg is used for the management of gastrointestinal discomfort related to excessive stomach acid production. This includes the symptomatic relief of conditions such as dyspepsia, heartburn, and peptic ulcer disease. It is also utilized for addressing symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. This product can serve as a supplementary treatment alongside other acid-reducing agents for the rapid relief of ulcer symptoms.

SHELOGEL Aluminum / Magnesium 200mg / 100mg common side effects include: changes in bowel activity such as diarrhea or constipation. The combination of ingredients is formulated to help balance these gastrointestinal effects. Less frequent reactions may include loss of appetite, unusual tiredness, or muscle weakness. Prolonged or excessive consumption may lead to disturbances in mineral balance, particularly in individuals with pre-existing health conditions.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults (18+ years): 1 to 2 tablets.
• Adolescents (12–17 years): 1 to 2 tablets.

The recommended dosage schedule is up to 4 times a day. Do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours. The product is not generally recommended for children under 12 years of age. Maximum treatment duration should be limited to 14 days for self-medication.

Contraindications

The product is not suitable for individuals with a known sensitivity to its active components. It should not be taken if there is severe abdominal pain or the potential for bowel obstruction. Use is also inadvisable in patients with severely debilitating health issues, kidney impairment, or issues related to mineral and bone health, such as phosphate depletion or osteomalacia.

Special Precautions

• Patients with advanced kidney disease are at risk of component accumulation and toxicity.
• Use with caution in individuals with porphyria who are undergoing haemodialysis.
• Self-treatment should not continue for longer than two weeks unless specifically advised.
• Patients with low-phosphorous diets, or those prone to severe diarrhea or constipation, should use this product cautiously.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

This combination can significantly reduce the absorption of many other orally administered medicines. It is crucial to maintain a separation interval of at least 2 hours between taking this product and any other oral medication to prevent drug interactions. This interference can affect the efficacy of certain antibiotics, heart medications, and thyroid treatments.

How should I store it?

Store in a clean, dry location at room temperature, ideally between 20°C and 25°C. Ensure the container is tightly closed to protect the contents from excessive heat and moisture.
