Indications / Uses

MOTILLEX Metoclopramide Syrup is used for relieving nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, migraines, or postoperative recovery. It helps accelerate gastric emptying in gastrointestinal motility disorders and facilitates diagnostic procedures involving the small bowel. This antiemetic medication also assists in managing symptoms associated with diabetic gastroparesis.

Side Effects

MOTILLEX Metoclopramide Syrup common side effects include: drowsiness, fatigue, and gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea. Some users may experience restlessness or involuntary muscle movements. Rare but serious reactions involve Parkinsonian-like symptoms, particularly with prolonged use or high doses.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults (18+ years): 5-10mL (5-10mg) 3 times daily 30 minutes before meals. Maximum daily dose: 30mL (30mg)
• Adolescents (14-17 years): 2.5-5mL (2.5-5mg) 3 times daily. Maximum daily dose: 15mL (15mg)
• Children (1-13 years): 0.1mg/kg per dose 3 times daily. Maximum daily dose: 0.5mg/kg

Not recommended for infants under 1 year. Maximum treatment duration: 12 weeks unless otherwise directed.

Contraindications

Gastrointestinal obstruction or hemorrhage; pheochromocytoma; epilepsy; concurrent use of drugs causing extrapyramidal symptoms. Hypersensitivity to metoclopramide or related compounds.

Special Precautions

• May cause drowsiness - avoid driving if affected
• Monitor for involuntary movements with long-term use
• Use cautiously in patients with asthma or hypertension
• Discontinue immediately if neurological symptoms develop

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

Potential interactions with sedatives may increase drowsiness. Avoid concurrent use with antipsychotics due to neurological risks. Generally incompatible with alcohol and MAO inhibitors.

How should I store it?

Store below 30°C in original container. Keep tightly closed and protect from light. Discard 1 month after opening.
