METO Metoclopramide 10mg is used for relieving nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, surgery, or gastrointestinal disorders. It helps accelerate gastric emptying in conditions like diabetic gastroparesis and gastroesophageal reflux. This medication also assists in facilitating small bowel intubation and radiographic procedures by improving gastrointestinal motility.

Side Effects

METO Metoclopramide 10mg common side effects include: drowsiness, restlessness, and fatigue. Some users may experience gastrointestinal discomfort like diarrhea. Rare but serious reactions involve involuntary muscle movements, particularly with prolonged use.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults (18+ years): 1 tablet (10mg) 3 times daily 30 minutes before meals. Maximum daily dose: 30mg
• Adolescents (14-17 years): ½-1 tablet (5-10mg) up to 3 times daily. Maximum daily dose: 30mg

Not recommended for children under 14. Maximum treatment duration: 12 weeks unless otherwise directed.

Contraindications

Gastrointestinal obstruction or perforation; pheochromocytoma; epilepsy or seizure disorders. Avoid with concurrent medications that cause extrapyramidal symptoms.

Special Precautions

• May cause drowsiness - avoid driving if affected
• Monitor for involuntary movements with long-term use
• Use cautiously in patients with hypertension or Parkinson's disease
• Discontinue immediately if neurological symptoms develop
