LIZELLE Drospirenone / Ethinylestradiol 3mg / 20mcg is used for the prevention of pregnancy in women who choose oral contraception as their primary method of birth control. It is also indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and the treatment of moderate acne vulgaris in women at least 14 years of age. This low-dose combined oral contraceptive helps regulate the menstrual cycle while providing effective protection against unintended pregnancy.

Directions and Dosage
- Adults (18+ years): 1 tablet daily for 28 consecutive days (24 active tablets followed by 4 inactive tablets). Do not exceed 1 tablet in 24 hours.
- Adolescents (14–17 years): 1 tablet daily for 28 consecutive days in the order directed on the pack. Do not exceed 1 tablet in 24 hours.
Safety and efficacy have not been established in children before menarche. Tablets should be taken at the same time each day. Maximum treatment duration is ongoing for as long as contraception is required.
Contraindications
This medication should not be used by individuals with a history of venous or arterial thrombosis, liver disease, or severe renal insufficiency. It is also contraindicated in those with adrenal insufficiency, hormone-dependent malignancies, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, or a history of migraine with focal neurological symptoms.
Special Precautions
- Increased risk of cardiovascular side effects, particularly in women over 35 who smoke.
- Requires monitoring of serum potassium in patients with conditions predisposing to hyperkalemia.
- Discontinue use immediately if symptoms of a blood clot or significant increase in blood pressure occur.
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
Effectiveness may be reduced by enzyme-inducing drugs such as certain anticonvulsants and antibiotics. Concurrent use with potassium-sparing diuretics may increase the risk of elevated blood potassium levels.
