Indications / Uses

OLZADIN Olanzapine 10mg is used for the management of symptoms associated with schizophrenia in adults and adolescents, helping to stabilize disturbed thought and emotional processes. It is also utilized for the short-term treatment of acute manic or mixed episodes related to bipolar I disorder, often in combination with other mood stabilizers. Furthermore, this preparation can be part of a medical regimen for treating episodes of depression that occur within bipolar disorder, or in cases of persistent, treatment-resistant depression.

Side Effects

OLZADIN Olanzapine 10mg common side effects include: significant weight gain, a feeling of sleepiness or drowsiness, and an increase in lipid levels, such as triglycerides and cholesterol. Other frequently experienced effects are dry mouth, dizziness, constipation, and feelings of restlessness, particularly when the treatment is first started. Less common but important effects involve potentially serious changes in blood sugar, as well as symptoms like muscle stiffness or involuntary, uncontrolled movements.

Directions and Dosage

• Dosage for Adults (18+ years): Starting dosage is 10 mg to 15 mg once daily.
• Dosage for Adolescents (13–17 years): Starting dosage is 2.5 mg or 5 mg once daily.

Do not exceed 20 mg in 24 hours for most primary indications. Not generally recommended for children under 13 years of age.

Contraindications

The use of this preparation is strictly forbidden in individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to its active component. It is also contraindicated for use in patients who have been diagnosed with narrow-angle glaucoma due to the risk of exacerbation.
