Directions and Dosage
- Dosage for Adults (18+ years) with Edema: The usual starting dose ranges from 20 mg to 80 mg administered once daily. The dosage can be adjusted by 20 mg to 40 mg increments every 6 to 8 hours. The total daily intake should generally not exceed 600 mg.
- Dosage for Adults (18+ years) with High Blood Pressure: The usual dosage is 40 mg twice a day.
- Dosage for Kids and Infants: Initial dose is 2 mg per kg of body weight administered once daily. Dosage may be increased by 1 mg to 2 mg per kg of body weight every 6 to 8 hours as necessary. The maximum daily dosage is 6 mg per kg of body weight.

Contraindications
Avoid use in individuals with known hypersensitivity to the compound or to related sulfonamide derivatives. It is also contraindicated in patients who are unable to urinate (anuria), those with significant depletion of body electrolytes, or those suffering from severe liver impairment that causes neurological complications.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
