EMICOX Celecoxib 200mg is used for symptomatic treatment to relieve pain, swelling, stiffness, and joint tenderness in various forms of arthritis, including osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in adults. It is also used for the relief of signs and symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis, as well as for the management of acute pain and primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps). This product may also be used as an adjunctive treatment for adenomatous colorectal polyps.

Side Effects
EMICOX Celecoxib 200mg common side effects include gastrointestinal issues such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, indigestion, flatulence, and nausea, which are generally mild. Directions and Dosage
- Dosage for Adults (Osteoarthritis): 200 mg daily as a single dose or 100 mg twice a day.
- Dosage for Adults (Rheumatoid Arthritis): 100 mg to 200 mg twice a day.
- Dosage for Adults (Ankylosing Spondylitis): 200 mg daily as a single dose or 100 mg twice a day. Dosage can be increased to a maximum of 400 mg daily.
- Dosage for Adults (Acute Pain & Primary Dysmenorrhea): Initial dose of 400 mg, followed by an additional 200 mg if needed on the first day. Maintenance dose is 200 mg twice a day thereafter.
- Dosage for Adults (Adjunctive treatment of adenomatous colorectal polyps): 400 mg twice a day with food.
- Dosage for Kids 2 years and older (Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis):
- For patients weighing 10 kg to 25 kg: 50 mg twice a day.
- For patients weighing over 25 kg: 100 mg twice a day.
The maximum recommended daily dosage is 400 mg for most conditions, not to exceed 800 mg on the first day for acute pain. It is not recommended for children under 2 years old.
Contraindications
This product should not be used by individuals with known hypersensitivity to the components or to sulfonamides. It is also contraindicated in patients who have a history of asthma, urticaria, or other allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other similar pain and inflammation relief products. Use is not advised for those with active gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration, inflammatory bowel disease, or severe heart, kidney, or liver impairment. It is also generally avoided in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
The use of similar products may delay or prevent the rupture of ovarian follicles, which is associated with reversible infertility in some women, and discontinuation may be considered for women trying to conceive. Use during the third trimester of pregnancy should be avoided as it may cause harm to the fetus.
Special Precautions
- Exercise caution in individuals with a history of gastrointestinal complications, such as bleeding or ulcers.
- Use with care in people with pre-existing heart conditions, high blood pressure, or fluid retention.
- Patients with mild to moderate kidney or liver impairment should be monitored closely.
- The product contains a sulfonamide group, which requires caution for those with known allergies to sulfonamide-containing medicines.
- May mask signs of infection or inflammation like fever.
- Use caution in dehydrated patients; dehydration should be corrected before starting use.
Is it safe to take it with other medications?
Caution is necessary when taking this product with other medications that inhibit liver enzymes, particularly those that slow down its breakdown. Concomitant use with blood thinners may increase the risk of bleeding. Interactions can also occur with products for high blood pressure or those that affect kidney function, potentially requiring dose adjustments.
How should I store it?
Keep the capsules stored at a temperature not exceeding 30∘C. The product should be stored in a dry place, protected from heat and moisture.
