Indications
Used as anti-urolithiasis in patient with urinary tract stones with normal kidney function and as diuretic in patients with mild to moderate congestive heart failure.
Dosage
As Diuretic: Take 1 tablet 3 times a day.
As Anti-urolithiasis: Take 40 to 50 mg/kg body weight per day in 3 equal doses. The usual adult dose is 2 tablets 3 times a day. If the patient is taking Sambong for urolithiasis, the patient must also drink an additional 3 liters of water per 24 hours to prevent dehydration related to its diuretic effect. Normal daily intake of water is 6-8 glasses per day.
The physician may prescribe a different dose for the patient depending on the assessment.

The patient should see a doctor before taking this medicine if the patient has excretory urogram (X-ray of the urinary tract) showing signs of blocked urinary passageway. The safety of this medicine among pregnant and breastfeeding women has not been established. It would be best to consult a doctor when considering to use Sambong tablets during pregnancy or lactation.

Storage
