Indications / Uses

ROBITUSSIN DM Syrup is used for relieving coughs associated with respiratory conditions like colds and bronchitis. It combines an expectorant to loosen mucus with a cough suppressant to reduce cough frequency. This dual-action formula helps clear chest congestion while calming persistent cough reflexes.

Formulation / Ingredients
ROBITUSSIN DM Syrup contains: Dextromethorphan HBr 15mg + Guaifenesin 100mg per 5mL.

Side Effects

ROBITUSSIN DM Syrup common side effects include: drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, and stomach upset. Less frequently, nervousness or mild headache may occur. These reactions are typically mild and resolve without intervention.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): 10mL every 4 hours. Maximum daily dose: 60mL (6 doses).
• Children 6-12 years: 5mL every 4 hours. Maximum daily dose: 30mL (6 doses).
• Children 2-6 years: 2.5mL every 4 hours. Maximum daily dose: 15mL (6 doses).

Not recommended for children under 2 years. Maximum treatment duration: 7 days unless symptom persists.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to components. Concurrent MAOI therapy or within 14 days of discontinuation. Respiratory depression.

Special Precautions

• Use cautiously in asthma or chronic bronchitis
• May cause drowsiness affecting alertness
• Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment
