COLVAN Capsule contains: Paracetamol 325mg + Guaifenesin 100mg + Phenylpropanolamine 20mg + Dextromethorphan 15mg + Chlorphenamine 1mg.

Side Effects

COLVAN Capsule common side effects include: Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, or nausea. Nervousness or mild gastrointestinal disturbances may occasionally occur. Rare reports include mild palpitations or urinary retention, typically resolving with continued use or dosage adjustment.

Directions and Dosage

  • Adults (18+ years) and Adolescents (12-17 years): 1 capsule every 6 hours as needed. Maximum: 4 capsules in 24 hours.

Not recommended for children under 12. Maximum treatment duration: 5 days unless otherwise directed. Allow at least 4 hours between doses.

Contraindications

Severe hypertension, coronary artery disease, or MAOI use within 14 days. Hypersensitivity to any components. Avoid with severe liver impairment or uncontrolled hyperthyroidism.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Generally not recommended. Potential risks include fetal cardiovascular effects and reduced uterine blood flow. Components may pass into breast milk causing infant drowsiness or irritability.
