Indications / Uses
BONAMINE is used for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness associated with motion sickness. It is also effective in managing vertigo. Meclizine 12.5mg, the active ingredient, works by reducing the activity of the vestibular system, which is responsible for balance. This medication helps to alleviate symptoms related to inner ear disturbances.
Side-effects
BONAMINE common side effects include drowsiness, dry mouth, and sometimes blurred vision. Less common side effects may include headache, fatigue, and in rare cases, allergic reactions.
Dosage / Direction
Children 11 yrs old and above: Give 2 tablets
5-10 yrs old: Give 1 tablet
Doses to be taken one hour before travel for 24-hr protection. If additional dose is needed, interval should be 4 hours or longer. Children 5-15 yrs old should be limited to two single doses only.
Tablets may be chewed or swallowed whole with water.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to meclizine or any component of the formulation. This product should not be given to patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to meclizine or to any of its components.
Special Precautions
Caution is used in patients with glaucoma and enlarged prostate. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. If pregnant or breastfeeding, seek doctor's advice before using this product.
Is it safe to take it with other drugs?
BONAMINE can interact with other medications, particularly those that cause drowsiness, such as sedatives, tranquilizers, or antihistamines.
How should I store it?
Store BONAMINE at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it out of reach of children. Do not use past the expiration date.
