Description

Indications / Uses

HYDRITE ORS Sachet is used for the management of dehydration due to diarrhea in both children and adults. It is formulated to replace essential water and electrolytes lost during moderate to severe fluid loss, helping to prevent the progression of dehydration. This oral rehydration solution is specifically designed to promote the absorption of water and salts from the intestines, restoring the body's natural balance efficiently during episodes of acute gastroenteritis.

Formulation / Ingredients

HYDRITE ORS Sachet contains: Sodium Chloride 520mg + Trisodium Citrate Dihydrate 580mg + Potassium Chloride 300mg + Glucose Anhydrous 2.7g

Do I need prescription to buy HYDRITE ORS Sachet?

No prescription required to purchase HYDRITE ORS Sachet. You can order it right now on our website.

Side Effects

HYDRITE ORS Sachet common side effects include: mild nausea or vomiting if the solution is consumed too quickly. While rare, excessive intake of salts can lead to hypernatremia or hyperkalemia, which may manifest as puffiness of the eyelids or increased thirst. Most individuals do not experience significant adverse reactions when following the recommended dilution and administration rates.

Directions and Dosage

Dissolve 1 sachet in 200 mL of drinking water.

  • Dosage for Infants 0–12 months: 50 to 100 mL after every loose stool.
  • Dosage for Kids 1–4 years: 100 to 200 mL after every loose stool.
  • Dosage for Kids 5–12 years: 200 mL after every loose stool.
  • Dosage for Adults (12+ years): 200 to 400 mL after every loose stool.

Administer the solution in small, frequent sips. Discard any unused portion after 24 hours if refrigerated, or after 1 hour at room temperature.

Contraindications

Do not use in cases of intestinal obstruction, paralytic ileus, or perforated bowel. It is not suitable for individuals with severe persistent vomiting, severe dehydration requiring intravenous therapy, or impaired renal function where salt balance cannot be regulated.

Special Precautions

  • Monitor for signs of worsening dehydration or inability to drink during the course of treatment.
  • Ensure the powder is dissolved in the exact volume of water specified to avoid electrolyte imbalance.
  • Use with caution in patients on a salt-restricted diet or those with heart failure.

Is it safe to take it with other medications?

No significant drug interactions have been reported. However, the presence of glucose and electrolytes may theoretically alter the absorption rate of certain medications if taken simultaneously.

How should I store it?

Store in a cool, dry place at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep the sachets protected from moisture and direct heat.
