Nebulizer mask, can be a more efficient way of the receiving aerosol medications. The nebulizer mask allows the patient to breathe the aerosol mist in through the nose and mouth to treat the passageways and the lungs directly. The nebulizer masks are typically made of vinyl and are priced to be affordable. They have a hose attachment, usually at the from front and are sized for adults.
How to Use
- Place the prescribed medication into the nebulizer jar (max 6cc)
- Carefully snap the lid over the jar
- Connect one end of the supply tubing to the small stem at the bottom of the nebulizer
- Attach the nebulizer to the mask inlet
- Connect the remaining end of the supply tubing to the desired pressure source
- Set oxygen to 5-6 LPM and check for flow through the device. (The optimum amount of flow may vary between pressure sources.)
- Place the mask on the patients face with the elastic strap below the ears and the neck. Gently pull the ends of the strap until the mask is secure. Shape the metal strip on the mask to fit the nose
