Indications / Uses

KATIALIS Ointment is used for treating bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, folliculitis, and infected minor wounds. It helps eliminate common pathogens responsible for superficial skin conditions while reducing inflammation and promoting healing in affected areas. This topical formulation is also indicated for secondary infections in dermatoses like eczema or burns where bacterial colonization is present.

KATIALIS Ointment contains: Mupirocin 20mg per gram + White Soft Paraffin Base.

Side Effects

KATIALIS Ointment common side effects include: localized burning, stinging, or itching at the application site. Less frequently, patients may experience redness, dryness, or mild swelling of the treated skin area. Discontinue if severe reactions like blistering, pain, or signs of allergic contact dermatitis develop.

Directions and Dosage

  • Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): Apply thin layer to affected area 3 times daily. Cover treated area if directed.
  • Children (2-12 years): Apply small amount 2-3 times daily. Maximum duration: 10 days.

Not recommended for infants under 2 years. Avoid use on large skin areas (>100 cm²). Maximum daily application frequency: 3 times.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component. Avoid application to mucosal surfaces (nasal passages, eyes). Not for use in deep puncture wounds or severe burns.

  • Discontinue if irritation or sensitivity develops
  • Avoid prolonged use beyond recommended duration
  • Not for ophthalmic or internal use
